Position Summary

Under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer or JHACH President designee, the Chief Administrator Officer (CAO) is responsible for all activities and employees on the Wesley Chapel campus and service area. The CAO will lead execution, management, financial performance and oversight of all operational components of the WC campus in accordance with a strategy aligned with that of Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital and JHM.

Role Accountabilities Include

  • Serves as the local authority for the Wesley Chapel campus
  • Key leader in the campus activation readiness, including staff planning, in coordination with JHACH COO, Design & Construction team, leads executive steering committee and subcommittee structure
  • Responsible for site profit and loss, quality and patient safety, patient and family engagement, medical staff planning and relations, regulatory compliance, and all site-based operations.
  • Physician engagement and business development with local pediatricians
  • Community subspecialty service line planning, growth and recruitment
  • Community engagement, establishing and maintaining relationships with government officials, local patient and family advisory council
  • Business community engagement through ongoing presentations to business groups, board roles and networking with Pasco EDC, North Tampa Chamber
  • Foundation engagement through presentations and donor engagement, event attendance
  • Activation lead on all building projects including clinical activation readiness in alignment with regulatory standards (i.e. TJC, CMS, AHCA, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine, an advanced medical degree or an advanced degree in administration, business or a health-related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible healthcare experience with at least 5 years at a leadership level
  • Demonstrated competence in building and maintaining stakeholder trust including physicians, donors and community
  • Ability to act independently and proactively and to effectively manage multiple priorities
  • Strong oral and written communicator with a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with trustees, legislators, other healthcare organizations and community leaders
