Job Description

We are seeking an Associate Attorney to join our high-performance tax controversy team in Temecula, CA. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated attorney who is passionate about client advocacy, interested in IRS practice, and looking to rapidly grow their career through extensive mentorship and hands-on legal work. You will represent individuals and businesses dealing with audits, collections, and complex tax disputes, while developing advanced skills under the guidance of experienced tax counsel. Responsibilities:

• Represent clients in IRS and state tax audits, collections, and controversy matters under supervision
• Draft legal memoranda, IRS responses, and client-facing communications
• Maintain proactive and professional communication with clients at all times
• Provide bi-monthly client status updates — 100% communication compliance required
• Enter time and case activity contemporaneously in Clio (case management software)
• Meet performance expectations aligned with firm KPIs and bonus eligibility
• Participate in all internal legal training programs, case meetings, and strategy sessions

Qualifications:

• Active, in good standing, Bar license from any state in the US
• Ability to work full-time, in-person, Monday through Friday
• Exceptional writing, research, and communication skills
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
• Interest in tax law and supporting clients through challenging situations
