Job Description
A Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Neuro/Surgical/Trauma provides critical care to patients with complex neurological injuries, post-surgical complications, and severe trauma, often working in a dedicated neuro-surgical intensive care unit (ICU), requiring advanced monitoring and management of patients with conditions like brain injuries, spinal cord trauma, and major surgical procedures; collaborating closely with neurosurgeons, trauma surgeons, and other specialists to deliver comprehensive care while offering emotional support to patients and their families.
RN - Neuro/Surgical/Trauma
As a registered nurse, you are expected to consistently deliver the best in care and customer service and demonstrate respect, dignity, kindness and empathy in each encounter with our patients, their families, visitors, and with each other. As part of the health care team, RNs assume primary accountability for nursing coordination and provision of individualized care for patients of all ages. The registered nurse also utilizes delegation and critical thinking skills to provide quality service through a team oriented, collaborative approach to patient care.
The RN's duties include, but may not be limited to the following:Qualifications
Education: Graduate of school of professional nursing of an accredited college or graduate of an approved program eligible to sit for the VA licensure exam.
Experience: None.
Licensure/Certification: Currently licensed as Registered Nurse in Virginia or eligible to obtain Virginia RN licensure. Obtain CPR, and as needed ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications.
Other: Computer skills required for electronic medical record (EPIC). Successfully complete orientation and competency requirements. Meet essential job functions.
