Job Description

Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Manager

Location: Wichita, Kansas

 

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to oversee quality assurance processes for a construction project on a military base, specifically for the Army Corps of Engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control within the construction industry, particularly with federal government projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of construction work to verify adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and site personnel to identify and resolve quality-related issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of quality control processes, inspections, and reports.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clients and regulatory agencies, to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Provide training and guidance to project staff on quality control practices and procedures.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of subcontractors and suppliers to ensure quality compliance.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in quality control within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience working on Army Corps of Engineers projects and familiarity with their procedures.
  • Strong understanding of federal government construction standards and specifications.
  • Experience managing projects with a value of at least $1 million; experience in projects valued between $2 million and $5 million is preferred.
  • Proficiency in using software platforms such as Bluebeam; experience with other construction management software is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.

  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to quality and safety, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A background in military construction projects is highly desirable.

 

Salary Range:

  • $115,000 - $130,000, commensurate with experience.
