$22/hour | Benefits after 90 days

Astor Club is a private members’ club in Chicago’s Gold Coast, featuring multiple dining experiences: a lively lounge, an elegant dining room, and an exclusive Chef’s Table led by Michelin-starred Chef Trevor Teich. We are currently seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.

Position Overview
The Pastry Chef de Partie will play a key role in preparing pastry and dessert elements for all of Astor Club’s menus. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to execute consistently at a high level. Creativity is welcome—this position provides room to contribute new ideas while working within a refined, modern kitchen.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute pastry production for lounge, dining room, and Chef’s Table menus.

  • Work with a variety of pastry techniques, including ice creams, sorbets, cakes, tarts, gels, and chocolate work.

  • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portioning of all desserts and pastry items.

  • Assist with menu development and contribute creative input to seasonal offerings.

  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety standards in the pastry section.

  • Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

  • Prior pastry experience in a professional kitchen required.

  • Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques.

  • Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Team-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.

  • A passion for learning and contributing creatively to the menu.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $22 per hour
