Astor Club is a private members’ club in Chicago’s Gold Coast, featuring multiple dining experiences: a lively lounge, an elegant dining room, and an exclusive Chef’s Table led by Michelin-starred Chef Trevor Teich. We are currently seeking a Pastry Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team.
Position Overview
The Pastry Chef de Partie will play a key role in preparing pastry and dessert elements for all of Astor Club’s menus. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to execute consistently at a high level. Creativity is welcome—this position provides room to contribute new ideas while working within a refined, modern kitchen.
Responsibilities
Prepare and execute pastry production for lounge, dining room, and Chef’s Table menus.
Work with a variety of pastry techniques, including ice creams, sorbets, cakes, tarts, gels, and chocolate work.
Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portioning of all desserts and pastry items.
Assist with menu development and contribute creative input to seasonal offerings.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and adherence to food safety standards in the pastry section.
Support the Executive Chef and Sous Chefs in day-to-day operations.
Qualifications
Prior pastry experience in a professional kitchen required.
Strong knowledge of classic and modern pastry techniques.
Ability to work efficiently and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment.
Team-oriented, reliable, and self-motivated.
A passion for learning and contributing creatively to the menu.
Compensation & Benefits
$22 per hour
