Position Summary
Newman Regional Health (NRH), a leading critical access hospital located in Emporia, Kansas, is seeking a full-time Internal Medicine Outpatient/Medical Rehabilitation Physician to join our dedicated team. Our 10-bed acute inpatient medical rehabilitation unit offers patients the opportunity to recover from serious illness, injury, or debility close to home, and includes a simulated living suite for occupational therapy. Our facility provides the only such program inside a critical access hospital in Kansas.
At Newman Regional Health, our Internal Medicine department is located within Newman Regional Health Medical Partners (NRHMP), which is a provider-based Rural Health Clinic located on the Newman Regional Health campus. In addition to internal medicine, we offer comprehensive primary and specialty care, including family practice, pediatrics, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, and sports medicine.
This position offers a meaningful opportunity to serve a diverse patient population while collaborating with a dedicated team of healthcare professionals committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. The Internal Medicine Outpatient/Inpatient will collaborate with the entire clinical team to provide medical direction in conformance with the facility’s policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations.
Skills & Qualifications
· Educational Requirements: MD or DO degree with a board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
· Experience : Clinical experience including work in rehabilitative services and outpatient clinic setting
· Licensure: Currently licensed to practice medicine in Kansas
· Interpersonal Skills: Strong community engagement and communication skills
