About The Opportunity
We are seeking a Grower Assistant to support test plot operations focused on berries Research/production. This role will assist the grower with irrigation tasks, pest and disease scouting, and general crop monitoring to help ensure the success of experimental berry varieties in a high-performing environment.
Responsibilities
• Irrigation System Management: Oversee and manage irrigation systems (Priva & Famidan) to ensure they operate efficiently and effectively.
• EC and pH Monitoring: Regularly monitor and adjust EC and pH levels to maintain optimal conditions for plant growth.
• Fertilizer Stock Solution Preparation: Prepare and manage fertilizer stock solutions to ensure precise nutrient delivery.
• System Maintenance and Setup: Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and setup of irrigation systems to prevent downtime and ensure continuous operation.
• Plant Monitoring: Walk the plants regularly to observe their condition and adjust irrigation strategies accordingly to meet their needs.
• Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data related to irrigation performance, plant health, and environmental conditions to make informed decisions.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed records of irrigation activities, system performance, and adjustments made to irrigation strategies.
• Collaborate with the grower to adjust cultural practices based on plant responses and trial goals.

Candidate Profile
• Some experience in berry production, is an advantage.
• Basic understanding of irrigation and fertigation in substrate systems.
• Familiarity with common pest and disease symptoms in berry crops.
• Detail-oriented with good observation and note-taking skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable, proactive, and willing to learn new techniques and tools.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred.

Compensation And Benefits
The following information is provided in good faith as a general description of the salary range and benefits for the position posted. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate is dependent upon experience, skills, education, work location, internal pay equity, and other objective job-related factors.
Salary Range estimated for the Grower Assistant role in the United States: $35,937.50/year to $54,000.00/year.
