What You’ll Do :

  We are seeking a Creative Director of Finishing to lead our newly formed Art Department within the Print division. This individual will guide the finishing process for all creative originating from the Print team, ensuring seamless execution from concept comps to final high-resolution deliverables. The role requires exceptional technical expertise in Photoshop and finishing, combined with creative vision and leadership.

The Creative Director will also develop team skills in digital painting and high-end illustration, and mentor junior designers and illustrators to finishing-level capability.

 

  • Lead the finishing process for all Print-sourced creative, ensuring accuracy, polish, and production-readiness.

     
  • Collaborate closely with Creative Directors, Art Directors, and Finishers to maintain creative integrity from concept through final output.

     
  • Provide high-end finishing expertise, including photo-real retouching, compositing, perspective correction, and large-scale rebuilds.

     
  • Manage and mentor the Sketch Illustration Team, upskilling them toward advanced digital painting and finishing.

     
  • Ensure consistency, quality, and brand alignment under the vision of the Executive Creative Director.

     
  • Partner with department leadership to streamline workflow efficiencies and resource allocation.

     
  • Contribute to the overall creative strategy, balancing artistry with technical excellence.

     


What We’re Looking For: 

  • 10+ years of experience in entertainment advertising, finishing, or high-end digital imaging.
  • Proven expertise in Photoshop and other relevant finishing tools.
  • Strong background in photo-real retouching, compositing, and large-format rebuilds.
  • Experience directing or mentoring junior artists.
  • Familiarity with AI creative tools (e.g., MidJourney, Stable Diffusion, Adobe Firefly) and enthusiasm for evolving workflows.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Portfolio that demonstrates finishing expertise and creative leadership.

  • The starting base compensation range for this position is $175,000-$185,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, location, prior experience, and education.

Extended periods of desk work:
The role requires prolonged periods of sitting while performing finishing tasks such as detailed retouching, compositing, digital painting, and reviewing large files and proofs for print readiness.

Communication:
Effective communication is essential, with regular verbal and written exchanges during team meetings, creative reviews, and check ins. The role includes giving clear direction and coaching to team members and aligning with creative and production leads.

Visual acuity:
Sharp visual focus is required for quality control and a high level of detail. This includes close vision for fine details, distance vision for overall composition, accurate color vision for consistent output, peripheral vision for layout awareness, depth perception for realistic composites, and the ability to adjust focus when moving between zoom levels.

Utilization of technology:
Daily use of professional software and hardware, including Adobe Creative Cloud tools, a pen tablet or stylus, calibrated monitors, and project management platforms (for example, Wrike). Work requires precise hand eye coordination.

Multi tasking:
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritize tasks, switch between feedback rounds, and maintain strong attention to detail and version control.

Manual dexterity:
Frequent and repetitive motions using keyboard, mouse, and stylus to make fine adjustments, create masks, paint, and correct perspective during extended work sessions.

Movement:
Occasional standing and walking during team sessions or reviews. Ability to reach and operate standard office and creative equipment.

Material handling:
Occasional lifting or moving of items up to 10 pounds, such as printed proofs, presentation boards, or peripheral devices.

Work environment and schedule:
Primary work is remote with extended computer use. Print deadlines can require extended hours, including evenings and some weekends. We focus on outcomes and meeting deliverables, with flexibility around schedules to support the work. Occasional travel for in-person reviews, team sessions, may be required, including visits to the Los Angeles office; travel is scheduled with notice.
