The Social Media Director will be responsible for managing and elevating the Cuomo for NYC campaign’s dynamic presence across platforms including X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Threads, and YouTube. This role is at the center of the campaign’s public-facing communications, ensuring that every post reflects the discipline, energy, and values of the campaign.
You will own the process of producing, editing, and posting content, coordinating with the creative team and senior staff to keep our channels timely, polished, and engaging. The ideal candidate is detail-obsessed, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can turn ideas into compelling content on tight deadlines.
Content Production & Posting
Post and manage content daily across all major platforms.
Ensure each post is proofread, tagged, and formatted properly before publishing.
Monitor post functionality and engagement after publishing.
Maintain an organized schedule of upcoming content and deadlines.
Content Development
Propose new content ideas hourly based on news cycles, campaign activity, and social trends.
Select, edit, and touch up photos and videos for campaign use.
Produce graphics and reimagine existing content creatively for different platforms.
Collaboration & Coordination
Work closely with the creative team producing videos and photos.
Coordinate with senior staff to ensure posts align with campaign priorities and messaging.
Act as the hub of the content team, ensuring smooth workflows and approvals.
Innovation & Iteration
Track engagement analytics to assess performance.
Adapt strategy quickly—test new approaches when others fall short.
Ensure the campaign’s digital presence stays fresh, relevant, and on-brand.
Remote or hybrid availability; NYC preferred.
Personal laptop and cell phone; campaign can provide or approve necessary software subscriptions.
Deep experience posting to all major social platforms, with familiarity in supplementary design and editing tools.
Strong political knowledge and understanding of New York City.
Exceptional writing, spelling, grammar, and editing skills.
