Job Title: Senior Embedded Software Engineer Pay Rate: $120,000 to $165,000/annually Location: Bothell, WA Employment Type: Direct w/ Full Benefits Expected start date: January 2026 Job Overview: A Senior Embedded Software Engineering job in Bothell, WA is currently available through Belcan at one of our key aerospace clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a B.S. in Software Engineering or equivalent and 10+ years of relevant experience. This position involves design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for real-time control systems, guidance and navigation, and telemetry. Job Duties:

  • Lead as a SME for software development, peer reviews, and design updates
  • Guide team throughout the software development lifecycle, including process development and improvement
  • Perform functional analysis and trade studies to design software solutions
  • Analyze software architecture and requirements to define system behavior, allocate requirement, integrate systems and perform verification
  • Plan technical milestones and supporting documentation and presentation materials
  • Brief internal and external customers
Required Qualifications:
  • Due to the nature of the work performed, US CITIZENSHIP is a REQUIREMENT
  • Bachelors Degree in Software Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years experience in developing embedded software solutions
  • Proven embedded software development experience using C/C++
  • Experience architecting embedded software solutions for safety-critical applications
  • Thorough understanding of data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming principles
  • Experience implementing of communication protocols, sensor interfacing, and signal processing
  • Experience with system integration including hardware/software interactions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong problem-solving skills and creative thinker motivated to apply technical standards and methodologies to develop solutions.
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to provide technical leadership and position others for success.
  • Self-starter that can perform independently with minimal direction.
  • Deep understanding of missile systems, components, and certification.
  • Experience designing scalable and maintainable software solutions.
  • Familiarity with model-based design.
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary range of $120,000 to $165,000.
