Principal Business Development Analyst Location Tempe, AZ :

Launch innovations in nearly every commercial and defense aircraft platform

Use your knowledge of customers, the industry and competition to identify and pursue opportunities for growth for Honeywell's Advanced Aerospace Technology business. You will develop strategies to gain new customers in current markets, and identify ways to penetrate new markets and channels. You will influence and partner with other Honeywell business leaders, marketing, sales, product development and various functions to define a long term roadmap for reaching and securing new customers. You will build strategic customer relationships, identify potential mergers or acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic alliances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead AAT's Research Technology Centers focusing on Advanced Mechanical Systems and Materials, and Advanced Alternative Power Research to win external technology development funding aligned to our roadmaps.
  • Understand the technology funding market and new technology trends, uncover non-obvious opportunities and customers for Honeywell to provide value through new technologies, and help provide technology differentiation for future Honeywell products
  • Lead regular engagement with government organizations, universities, and OEMs. Investigate, recommend, and facilitate the formation of strong relationships with strategic customers.
  • Work with RTCs, GBEs, and other internal organizations to formulate effective business development strategies for external technology funding.
  • Lead Advanced and Applied Technology to help shape customer requirements and objectives for future R&D opportunities. Ensure Honeywell has sufficient insight to prepare for upcoming opportunities before requests for proposals, BAAs etc. are posted.
  • Manage the pursuit process from initial concept and customer engagement through to contract award. Lead Honeywell to develop customer presentations, white papers, and proposals.
  • Lead an effective business development MOS for sections within the RTC, and drive prioritization of business opportunities and available internal resources.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's Degree in an engineering or science-related discipline.
  • 10 years of professional engineering/science-related experience with demonstrated competency in advanced engineering and/or research, and leading engineering/research technology development teams and programs
  • Proven capability to repeatedly cultivate and capture advanced technology funding in mechanical or power technologies from or within science and technology customer agencies such as DARPA, AFRL, ONR, MDA, NASA, or FAA.
