• Clinical Shift Schedule: 24-hour shifts (5p – 5p on specified dates)

• Nov 27, 2025 (Thanksgiving Day) – Ongoing additional dates as needed
PATIENT INFORMATION
• Patient Demographics: Healthy newborns, NICU patients, and occasional pediatric ER consults 
• Admissions: Yes – NICU admissions overnight (with limitations)
• Rounding: Included (in-house NICU and newborn coverage)
• Phone Consults: Yes – rare and minor pediatric ER consults
• Case Mix: Healthy newborns, NICU coverage, limited pediatric emergency cases
 FACILITY INFORMATION 
• Specialty Backup Available: Neonatology
• Support Staff Available: Nursing and ancillary staff support
• Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
• Hospital Privileges Required: Yes (Emergency privileges required)
• Temporary Privileges Available: Yes – for qualified providers with clean background
• Credentialing Timeline: Expedited (emergency privileges process)
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

REQUIRED PROCEDURES
• Attend deliveries and provide neonatal resuscitation support (NRP required)
• Manage NICU admissions and provide in-house night coverage (with Neonatology backup)
• No invasive procedures required
JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Licenses: Active Connecticut Medical License (required)
• Board: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine
• DEA: Active DEA Certification (required)
• Certifications: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required; BLS/ACLS preferred
• Experience: Prior NICU or newborn coverage experience preferred
• Other Qualifications: Must have clean background for emergency privileges; must be available for Nov 27 coverage
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide inpatient pediatric hospitalist coverage, including newborn and NICU patients
• Attend and manage deliveries as required, performing neonatal resuscitation when needed
• Conduct patient evaluations, admissions, and rounding in collaboration with neonatal team
• Respond to pediatric ER consults as needed (minor and infrequent)
• Ensure appropriate communication and documentation within hospital systems
