This position is not a summer internship. This role is a full-time position working 4, 10-hour shifts, 40 hours a week, and requires a 1.5-year commitment.

Summary:

As a Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) , also known as an Allegro Care Team Assistant (CTA), you will play a key role in maintaining patient flow while providing professional and caring service to our patients and their families. The daily tasks of this role include, but are not limited to, maintaining patient records, coordinating schedules for patients and providers, and preparing patients for examination.

This role is integral in supporting the clinic team to provide a compassionate, seamless care experience for our patients.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage rooming and coordinate efficient patient flow through the clinic.
  • Support providers with patient care and by anticipating provider needs.
  • Perform patient intake procedures. Includes but not limited to vital signs, hearing and vision screening, etc.
  • Administer vaccines and single-dose medications via the following routes: oral, subcutaneous, intradermal, intramuscular, and intranasal.
  • Perform phlebotomy (MA-C or MA-phlebotomist) and other lab processes.
  • Stock and clean routine clinic supplies and exam rooms; maintain safety and cleanliness throughout clinic.
  • Assist in patient communication via phone calls and patient portal.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
  • Other assigned duties as delegated by manager.
  • Exhibit good judgement within scope of role with or without provider or nurse present.
  • Promote atmosphere of patient care and customer service excellence, respecting patient rights, confidentiality, diversity, and developmental needs. Participate in committee and quality improvement activities as requested.

Requirements:

  • No previous experience required.
  • Must adhere to all Allegro Pediatrics employee health screening policies.
  • The person in this position must always demonstrate professionalism and integrity.
  • Must be available to work on weekend and holiday rotations.
  • Proficient computer skills as needed for the position.
  • Full-time position with at least 1.5-year commitment.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal/people skills.
  • Strong organizational/multi-tasking skills.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced patient-focused environment with ongoing changes.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to all clinics as staffing needs change.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Pre-Employment Requirements: 
    • Background check.
    • Drug testing in compliance with Washington State Bill 5123 for this safety-sensitive position.
  • To uphold safety for all employees and patients, we continue to require vaccination status for all new hires, including remote or hybrid schedules, at time of hire and annually
    • Current COVID booster, or as newly released, and annually each fall.
    • We require flu immunizations at time of hire, or as newly released, and annually each fall.
    • Various other immunization requirements that we can discuss during your interview.
    • All employees are currently required to wear a surgical, KN95, or N95 mask at all times while in clinic, patient-facing.

Education:

  • High School/GED diploma or higher.
  • Ability to obtain a Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) credential through the State of Washington, sponsored by Allegro Pediatrics.

Schedule:

  • 4/10’s, 4 days a week with 10-hour shifts. 40 hours per week. 
    • Day Off To be Determined of Allegro's Staffing Needs.
  • Schedules are built out 2 months in advance.
  • Employees are required to work one weekend day per month in addition to their weekday schedule and one holiday each year.
  • Weekends and holidays include additional compensation differentials.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

The following is required to perform the essential functions of this role.

While performing the duties of this job the employee regularly works in an office/clinic setting, are as follows:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and bending.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and communicate effectively.
