**Job Title: Hot Shop Helper** **Job Description** As a Hot Shop Helper, you will support the crew blacksmith by assisting in the movement of materials on the press to forge. Your role will involve driving forklifts to transport material, reading calipers and other measuring equipment to determine the size of forged material, and driving manipulators for advanced material movement in and out of furnaces and around press equipment. Additionally, you will operate grinding equipment used in grinding forgings and input forging stock material. **Responsibilities** + Follow lead and directions from crew blacksmith to move materials on press to forge. + Drive forklifts to move and transport materials. + Read calipers and other measuring equipment to determine the forged size of materials. + Drive manipulators for advanced material movement in and out of furnaces and around press equipment. + Operate grinding equipment used in grinding forgings and input forging stock material. **Essential Skills** + Experience with bandsaw and saw operation. + Proficiency in using measurement tools. + Knowledge of production processes and hand tools. + Ability to operate forklifts. + General production and fabrication skills. + Skill in operating grinders and understanding blueprints. + Competence in machine operation and deburring. + Experience in material handling. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Forklift certification preferred. **Work Environment** The work environment is manufacturing-based, involving the use of various equipment and tools.
