What You Will Be Doing

As our first Business Development Representative, you’ll play a foundational role in building our go-to-market engine. You'll be targeting some of the largest international General Contractors , initiating high-value conversations with senior decision-makers, and shaping the future of sales at Slate.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Create new business opportunities to fuel Slate’s growth
  • Partner with an Account Executive to achieve mutually aligned sales quotas each month
  • Engage construction professionals through phone, email, and other channels to understand their challenges and identify opportunities to solve them
  • Have the autonomy to operate beyond your role and help the team improve our process, training, use of technology, and any other aspects of our business
  • Work with sales management to develop targeted lists, call strategies, and messaging to create opportunities for new business
  • Conduct daily activities including:
    • Pre-call research and planning
    • Make a high volume of calls per day
    • Follow-up with previous contacts (nurturing leads)
    • Maintain HubSpot records
What we’re looking for:
  • Desire to pursue a career in Enterprise Sales
  • Construction industry experience
  • Will to achieve results—the curiosity and perseverance to push harder when the going gets tough
  • Hunter mindset – This role is 90% outbound
  • Commitment to lifelong learning and continuous development
  • Able to receive feedback/coaching and adapt to overcome challenges
Bonus Points:
  • 1+ years’ experience in outbound sales/prospecting
  • SaaS Sales experience ideal
  • Entrepreneur mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
 

Compensation & Benefits

  • $60,000 base salary + commission (potential over $90,000 OTE)
