Job Description
				  Job Title: ELS Analyst  
   Location: Austin, TX 78701 (Onsite) 
   Duration: 12 Months  
  Payrate : $18/hr on W2.  
    JOB DESCRIPTION  
  -  This position will primarily perform preparatory and analytical methods within a defined laboratory section or discipline. This position utilizes knowledge and experience in own discipline but is still building higher-level  
  -  knowledge and skills.  
  -  Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction from supervisor, manager, and/or more experienced colleagues.  
  -  Performs analytical methods by conducting sample preparation and analysis for laboratory instrument/equipment within a laboratory section of discipline, which includes making observations,  
  -  analyzing data (including any sample preparatory batch information), and interpreting results.  
  -  Performs analytical calculations and documents results. Enters data in LIMS and maintains raw data records of analysis for review.  
  -  Assists with troubleshooting of instrumentation, equipment, and analytical methodologies to ensure production goals are met. Assists with required maintenance and repairs as needed by communicating  
  -  to more experienced staff and management the troubleshooting observations, and records all maintenance performed in LIMS.  
  -  Assists with reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as needed or as assigned.  
  -  Ensures complete compliance with all Environmental Laboratory Services (ELS) SOPs.  
  -  Assists with Corrective or Preventive Action Investigations at the direction of the supervisor, senior staff, or Quality Manager.  
  -  Performs required quality control procedures to document the validity and traceability of data generated.  
  -  Maintains records of Demonstration of Capability (DOC), Method Detection Limit (MDL), Limit of Detection (LOD) studies, and all training and provides these records to the laboratory Quality Assurance  
  -  Officer (QAO) and supervisor. Ensures all work is performed in compliance with the ELS Quality System  
  -  Manual (QSM) approved methods, National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) requirements, state and federal regulations, and client-specific Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPP).  
  -  Complies with the Environmental Laboratory Services safety program, chemical hygiene plan, quality assurance program, pertinent standard operating procedures (SOPs), and applicable regulatory  
  -  mandates, standards, policies, and codes of assigned duties.  
  -  Completes all initial training and ongoing annual certifications before the deadline for assigned laboratory methodologies and ensures all training records are documented and submitted to the  
  -  supervisor for review.  
  -  Transport hazardous waste materials into designated waste storage containers as assigned.  
  -  Monitors consumable inventory for assigned section(s) and places orders with vendor as needed or submits an internal order request.  
  -  May perform all ELS Customer Service Representative I duties.

    Minimum Qualifications:  
  A High School Diploma or equivalent GED  
  Prior laboratory support/analytical experience or relevant college education  
  Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  
  -  Knowledge of general work environment safety practices  
  -  Knowledge of performing general data entry  
  -  Skill in meeting deadlines  
  -  Skill in monitoring inventory  
  -  Skill in communicating effectively with team members and supervision

  -  Skill in planning, scheduling, prioritizing, and coordinating work within assigned work area  
  -  Skill in complying with ELS safety program, chemical hygiene plan, Quality System Manual, pertinent standard operating procedure (SOP's), and applicable regulatory mandate, standards, policies, and codes pertinent to assigned duties  
  -  Basic skill level in office productivity applications (such as email, word processing, spreadsheets, etc.) 
  -  Ability to operate in a Laboratory Information Management System for data entry and extraction.  
  -  Ability to work safely with hazardous waste materials  
  -  Ability to comply with laboratory safety and environmental policies, practices, and procedures  
  -  Ability to learn sample extraction and analysis  
  -  Ability to learn quantitative analytical chemistry  
  -  Ability to understand and follow laboratory concepts, methodology, instrumentation, practices, and procedures  
  -  Ability to learn operations of analytical instrument software  
  -  Ability to work with electronics and mechanical devices  
  -  Ability to remain alert and maintain safety awareness  
  -  Ability to balance competing and high priority work demands  
  -  Ability to work in a team environment  
  -  Ability to pay attention to details  
  -  Ability to stay focused and logical under tight time constraints  
 
  Nice To Have  
  -  An associate’s degree in chemistry, environmental science, biology, microbiology, etc.
