Data Center Technician Auburn, AL 36832 System One is seeking a Data Center Technician / Data Analyst in Auburn, AL to be responsible for the physical installation and maintenance of server equipment. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The primary duties include racking and stacking of server equipment and ensuring the upkeep and optimal performance of server hardware within the Data Hall. Important Details: + Contract opportunity + Pay rate up to $33/hr. Salary will be commensurate with experience. + Work schedule: Standard business hours + Weekly pay + Benefits after 30 days (health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, etc.) + 401k after 30 days + Job offer will be contingent on drug screen and background check Key Responsibilities: + Racking and Stacking: Install, move, and secure server and network equipment in racks. Ensure all equipment is properly labeled and documented. Connect power, network, and other necessary cables to servers. + Maintenance and Upkeep: Conduct regular inspections of server equipment to ensure operational efficiency. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of hardware issues. Assist in the implementation of upgrades and replacements of server components. + Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of equipment installations and changes. Document and report any issues or incidents to the Data Center Operations Manager. Update inventory management systems with current equipment status. + Collaboration and Support: Work closely with network engineers and other IT staff to ensure seamless operations. Provide support for data center projects and initiatives as needed. Assist with the development and implementation of data center policies and procedures. Qualifications: + Associate's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent work experience. + Basic understanding of server and network hardware. + Experience with data center operations and equipment installation is preferred. + Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs). + Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. + Excellent communication and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Working Conditions: The role requires working in a data center environment, which may involve exposure to noise and varying temperatures. Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to support data center operations.
