Join our mission-driven team working in the Health Regulation Division, where your expertise contributes to protecting, maintaining, and improving the health of Minnesotans!
The purpose of the position is to serve as the division's coordinator for communications for the Health Regulation Division.
Working as the Communications Coordinator you will:
Develop content and update the division's website.
Prepare documents and presentations to comply with accessibility standards.
Draft messages and communications related to the Health Regulation Division that affect internal and external audiences.
Edit and publish employee news content.
Coordinate and execute internal agency events upon direction of the Health Regulation strategic communications leadership.
Provide communications to support the Health Regulation program areas.
Create content and email bulletins upon direction of the Health Regulation Division strategic communications lead.
This position is currently eligible for up to 50% hybrid telework for applicants residing in Minnesota or a bordering state within 50 miles of the work location. Telework of 50% or more may be allowed based on position needs and location.
Minimum Qualifications

Two (2) years of experience in communications or public relations.
AND
Proficient in the use of software such as Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Qualifications to be assessed during the interview process:
Knowledge relating to basic principles of effective communication for a variety of audiences and communication channels, including the areas of plain language, writing and editing, and digital communication.
Ability to manage projects of varying sizes and turnaround times.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain working relationships and partnerships.
Ability to adapt to change and ambiguity.
Planning and problem-solving skills.
A master's degree in communications or public relations may substitute for 18 months of experience; a bachelor's degree in communications or public relations may substitute for one year of experience; a related associate's degree may substitute for six months of experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Earned master's or bachelor's degree in communications or public relations.
Familiarity with the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act and other state or federal laws dictating requirements for data privacy and confidentiality.
Experience coordinating events, presentations or speeches.
